Up Dharma DownThe band got the name from the word Dharma, meaning the laws of life. In whatever case, it is a law that connects everything in existence no matter how diverse they are.

This is how the band explains their music, having rather dissimilar musical influences that results into a dynamic sound that still meets halfway as it appeals to a certain group of listeners almost everywhere.

Such a unique name for a Filipino Band, a-matter-of-factly. And I would say their genre is a combination of Rock, Neo-soul, Acid Jazz and Electronic music with the likes of Jill Scott, Robert Plant, Janis Joplin, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, The Doors, The Cure, Incognito, Spyro Gyra, Zero 7, Photek, Portishead and even John Williams to name only a few of the band’s list of musical heroes and geniuses.

Up Dharma Down is: Armi Millare [keyboards, vocals, rhythm guitars], Carlos Tanada [lead guitars], Ean Mayor [drums, human turntables], Paul Yap [bass]

A rising Filipino band. Galeng nyo!

Asteg diba? I do like their style, not a screaming band & they’re so young. The lead vocal is exceptional.

Oh some of the songs are in “tagalog” (Filipino language) so I hope you still enjoy listening. Take care.

its smooth soft sound, trickles little by little, not intruding to your quiet space. seems like its inconsistently teasing you to listen; though it’s constantly soothing and relaxing your mind. it lingers, like another soul you know from your past life… ewan, di ko ma-describe… hay naku! it’s lazy music and i love it. basta, ang galing ng music nila!

the first time I heard Up Dharma Down’s song ” Hiwaga” I was enthralled by its lyrics and its melody. It was very soothing. Pang chill-out talaga. Just by listening to it can get me through a busy day. I really recommend this OPM band. They are definitely one of the best.
