I’m not sure whether I’m ready for some Network Marketing business. With this in mind I see how hard it is actually working for me. I see that most people are already doing these, everyday but how powerful it really is?
I was invited by one of our clients to meet her at Starbucks in Queensway this afternoon and I had no idea why suddenly she asked me for a cup of a caramel macchiato. She’s Canadian married to a Canadian Chinese, a very cool person, although she’s older, she’s into the IN thing most ‘younger’ people, like having funky gadgets, wears trendy clothes and into Evians and all those glamorous stuff at the Lane Crawford – who btw talks so well-poised while she looks straight into your eye making sure that you really listen to what she is telling you. Simply known to many in my department, a business consultant with a trendy outfit that matches her different hairstyles.
So I arrived few minutes earlier. As I sat on the couch, nothing I had in my mind but to contemplate on the “mmmm she must be asking me another favor”. I had her business card on my hand and that I’d pretty much suspect she would be selling me stuff & ask if I want an extra income. So basically, I will be working with her to get into the business. However, most people, like myself who thinks that I’d rather just stick to my job and wait for my monthly pay check & bonus. It’s easy to see the big picture but it didn’t end there. She explained to me that on this kind of business, it is realistic to an average person to create such an income worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or even more with an initial investment of less than a mortgage payment. I know all along it’s all about deposit payments, works, prospect clients, and all those “hey let’s meet for a cup of coffee and I have some proposals to make”. Those stuff.
Whatever that is, I asked her how much. She didn’t tell me the answer right away so she continued explaining and showed me the product & the company she’s working with thru her tiny Helwett laptop on a slideshow. It’s all about the products, business plans, the tools & the marketing strategies and planning which allow people to achieve extraordinary of financial success. She also gave me this chocolate product sample (tastes good) & a traveller size of toilettres. Such a thing to make me smile in a minute until of course it gets me a lot confused as we went on. I know when things are kind of new to you, things go wander in your mind, “can I just say NO and leave?”. She could have read my mind. I guess she did. Accordingly, she said that once I understand a little more about this business, I would feel obligated for myself to show people the potential of becoming involved with this company. I think it’s about confidence really. “Do I have these”? I asked myself. I’m not sure.
To make the story short, we sat and talked for an hour explaining things with me. I still need to know “What Do they really Do”? Well the bottom line is,
The key to success in this business is two-fold. First, your success depends on the number of people you can introduce our products and our business model to. Second, you will achieve success by helping those who decide to join you in business, also succeed by doing the same.
In short, Networking. So I will be in business for myself, not by myself. Team effort as you say. I will be attending trainings (another work I know) and will be receiving free personal hand-on training from the company. She gave me some brochure to read, to absorb what marketing is all about. Well it’s part of a self-improvement really so I made another date this Friday to see how much commission I will be getting. No not for now. I will be learning on how I’m gonna find my TWO HEAD downline costumer. You know, if you’re familiar, points accumulated in your right-side and left-side downline groups. Blah.
I hope this goal is achievable. In the first place, I have done this a long time ago so I’m already quite familiar although it didn’t give me the confidence to really do the job, I think this one looks promising.
